A ten storey student housing block, the facade of Blok 1 paves the way for a modern upmarket regeneration, outlined in a larger redevelopment scheme planned for the district. Designed by Group A, the building stands alone in solitude allowing a four-sided design. The exterior presents itself as chequered with irregular sized and shaded brown panels scaling the full height of the tower. Windows of different sizes punctuate the structure intermittently and panoramic windows wrap around the corners, helping to break up the solid form. The unique exterior and window pattern ensures that no two dorms within are the same. The ground floor comprises support facilities for the students, technical areas and commercial units. Each of the nine upper floors is laid out with ten dorms. The top floor will be used as a communal roof terrace. The building's form will work with the presence of students to enliven the district allowing a new energy to take hold as post-war housing is partially demolished to make way for more upmarket housing developments.Fonte: World Architecture News Quote

Quote
