Um arquitecto português ganhou o concurso internacional, promovido pelo Consórcio Politécnico de Milão, aberto a jovens, para desenvolver novos conceitos para as lojas de vestuário. O projecto de Luís Pereira Miguel foi o vencedor entre candidatos de 46 países e vai ser já aplicado numa loja Benetton em Omsk, na Rússia.

Young architect Luis Pereira Miguel wins competition with Combispace design

POLI.design , a Consortium of the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, offered young architects the opportunity to compete in the design of new retail concepts for large international clothing enterprises. The winner, portuguese architect Luis Pereira Miguel, will go on to see his Combispace design created as the new Benetton store in the city of Omsk, Russia.

Miguel beat of competition from 46 countries and a shortlist of 6 final projects, each of which will be awarded their prizes at a ceremony in October. But the jury's final choice fell unanimously on Combispace, which "unifies in an original and fluid manner the two floors of the historical building object of the competition, thus creating an articulate system of transforming spaces and of exposition of merchandise that well respond to the functional and communicative needs of the present topic".

The competition represents a challenge for designers in finding new eco-sustainable and creative solutions capable of expressing the quality of interior environments, products and services. Designs were encouraged to think of future spaces not merely for selling products but also for communication, interaction with final users and aggregation activities. Technology was also to be central to the design by incorporating its capacity to humanize the approach to buying by transforming it in a social experience, a moment for self-gratification and pleasure.

Realmente está bastante interessante a proposta. Trabalhar neste tipo de projectos, onde já existe o conceito da loja pré-definido, e o arquitecto tem de o desenvolver e adequar ao espaço em questão, é a meu ver, mais aliciante do que parece.
