Dreamer Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 UN Studio Mediatheque, New Orleanshttp-~~-//myninjaplease.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/11/un_studio_no1.jpgUn Studio, the Netherlands based architecture firm, is currently in the design phase a Mediatheque for downtown New Orleans. Conceptually based on the form of a ziggurat [yes, the Mesopotamian temple/shrine/house of the gods, etc], the mediatheque’s purpose is to act as a ‘tool in re-establishing a balanced ecology between culture and commerce’. The project is intended to provide a mixture of public & private uses, therefore encouraging shared use of spaces and an interaction of the various inhabitants of the building and surrounding area. And it looks pretty sick too.http-~~-//myninjaplease.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/11/un_studio_no2.jpg-section showing some of the various uses of the building, and the sunlight/shading diagrams http-~~-//myninjaplease.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/11/un_studio_no3.jpg-model showing how the exterior surface of the ‘zig-zag’ shape of the building will be used for green/planted public space originally found at Platforma Arquitectura, more at UN Studios website Link:http://architecture.myninjaplease.com/?p=8 Quote Não é incrível tudo o que pode caber dentro de um lápis?...
