On 18 July, five architects presented their conceptual designs for a new $30 million art museum to be built at the University of Michigan in East Lansing, Michigan. Those firms are Coop Himmelb(l)au of Vienna and Los Angeles; Kohn Pederson Fox Associates of New York; Zaha Hadid of London; Randall Stout Architects of Los Angeles; and Morphosis of Los Angeles. The University plans to select an architect in September. Groundbreaking for the new museum is planned for the fall of 2008 with completion anticipated in 2010.
