Arq.to Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 GREENBUILD DENVER: Products & Materials Well folks, we’ve got some good news and some bad news; The good news is that you’re currently reading one of the best weblogs for keeping up to date with all the latest and greatest materials in the green building world. The bad news is, we’ve already shown you most of the cool new materials gracing the Exhibit Hall floor - ther’re all covered already in our NEW MATERIALS section. Unfortunately, we haven’t stumbled upon any new groundbreaking products here in Denver. But for those of you who couldn’t venture to the Mile High City, we’ll show you some of our favorites, and remind you of the broad range of exciting resources at your fingertips.Alkemi: aluminum shavings in colored resin - we covered this at the first of the year for its recycled content. We’ve mentioned American Clay several times (although we’ve never really done a full post on the product.) This stuff is gorgeous! Yes, that is a landscape painting in the background using their product on the demonstration wall. One of the many reclaimed timber options at the convention, EcoTimber had an amazingly diverse sample collection - - beautiful, but not for shallow pockets. We raved about Expanko cork products back in January. Although the products we covered were the natural looking flooring, the rubbery feeling and brightly colored tiles were suprisingly nice as well. Nicki felt the need to try her own indentation test.Paperstone was sharing a booth with Kirei. We’ve discussed both Plyboo, and cool products constructed of Plyboo. If you’re interested in the product, check out the comments section of the original post for some explanation on why the stuff is so darned expensive.Terra Mai’s reclaimed tropical hardwoods. After several rounds on the exhibit floor, we were a little disappointed in the lack of new products and materials, however the massive collection of businesses catering to the emerging sustainable market was inspirational in itself.
