Covet is a young line for men and women that we are really excited about. Currently, about 50% of the collection is made with eco-textiles, such as organic cotton, bamboo and soybean, with other fabrics including handwoven cottons from India. Apparently the entire Spring 2007 collection will be environmentally friendly. Tara St. James designs the collection and her degree in menswear is evident in the impeccable cuts and tailoring. Aside from using environmentally friendly materials, the line is also made in socially responsible factories, two of which are ISO certified.
I was recently in eco-boutique Gomi, here in NYC, when a Covet shipment arrived - and I have to say that “Covet” is definitely the most appropriate name for this line. The super soft bamboo pieces have apparently been flying off of the shelves. Information about nationwide availability and phone orders can be found on the website.
