Denmark’s largest hotel to be built in Ørestad with Daniel Libeskind as the architect
11-10-2006

Property and construction:

NCC Property Development has entered into an alliance with the Danish hotel chain CABINN about the development of Denmark’s largest hotel. It is to be situated in Ørestad and to be designed by the Polish/American architect Daniel Libeskind.

NCC Property Development is pleased with the alliance. General Manager Nikolaj Hertel says to Markedsoversigten Erhvervsejendom:

”The hotel will have one of the most visible locations in Ørestad City and will inevitably become a landmark for the district. Therefore, it is especially fortunate that it is to be Daniel Libeskind himself who will design the building. In many ways it will be the exponent of the district and everything that we would like to create in relation to city environment and architecture.”

CABINN’s future hotel in Ørestad City is to be the largest hotel in Denmark so far. With 700 rooms the hotel can serve both participants at the Bella Center Fair, golf tourists at the Royal Golf Center, guests at University of Copenhagen as well as ordinary business travellers and tourists.

The hotel will face Amager Fælled and the new Royal Golf Center. Moreover, it will be right next to Denmark’s largest shopping centre Fields and the Metro which gives easy access to the rest of Copenhagen.
