The seven-storey Broadway Hotel boasts a contemporary glazed and polished stainless- steel facade, and is intended to drive regeneration in the area. The restrictive site, at the junction of The Broadway and Salway Place, means the hotel will be close to neighbouring buildings, including Buckley Gray Yeoman’s residential Q Building. To prevent guests from overlooking these buildings, each bedroom’s facade has a diamond shaped configuration of two sloping blank walls, which face forwards to Salford Place, and two side windows with views to the east and west. The diamond windows are also intended to make a striking addition to the Broadway. Matt Yeoman, director at Buckley Gray Yeoman, said: “It is great to be back in Stratford dealing with a site context that we helped to create when working here years ago. “The shape and form that the structure has taken in response to those restrictions means we have created a striking building that will really stand out.”Fonte: bdonline Quote
