The six designs shortlisted in the competition for a new festival centre in Sheffield include proposals from Carmody Groarke, HLM and Prue Chiles

Also on the shortlist are Houghton Budd Architects, Jason King Architect and Sadar Vuga Arhitekti with The Designers Republic. An anonymous exhibition of the six proposals took place last week to give the public the chance to have their say on which should win.
The jury’s decision will make its decision in mid-July once the teams have presented their proposals.
The new £3 million building, which will extend the Showroom cinema and Workstation cultural industries business centre, will occupy a key city centre location near the newly redeveloped Sheffield Railway station and adjacent Sheaf Square.
