Designer / Intern Architect. Qualifications:
1. Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in an architectural firm. Other types of related experience will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
2. Applicant must be well rounded. A broad skill set is required including the following: a.Must be an excellent designer that is comfortable with collaboration. b.Able to research materials, systems, and details effectively and efficiently. c.Able to translate loose or inexplicit directions from a Principal or Project Manager and develop them effectively. d.Must understand the general architectural processes involved in a project and be able to see beyond the task at hand. e.Using design, drafting, modeling, and analyses tools: AutoCAD, 3D Studio VIZ/MAX, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Project and Excel. Knowledge of Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver are not required but a definite plus. f.Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
3. A fresh, thoughtful and rigorous approach to design is an absolute necessity no matter what the scale, scope, or budget of a project. Great design no matter what the constraints is what our office offers to clients.
4. This position is in a small, boutique office in New York City that is one of five network offices of a larger, nationwide firm. Applicants must be able to “wear many hats” and be comfortable not only managing and designing projects, but also preparing presentations, drafting, and doing project research when necessary. Applicants must also be willing to take an active role in office management and marketing.
