lllARKlll Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 The Architecture Foundation's Real Architecture Spring 2007 series continues with a presentation by Grimshaw Architects' chairman Nicholas Grimshaw and director Mark Middleton about the practice's recent expansion of Melbourne's Southern Cross Station, one of Australia's largest on-land transport centres. Hear the pair discuss how the project, which features an impressive dune-like roof system, marks a progression from Grimshaw's earlier transport projects, most notably the Eurostar Terminal at Waterloo Station, London. The talk, recorded at the Union Chapel in London's Islington on May 2 2007, is introduced by Jonathan Glancey, architecture and design critic of the Guardian, and is followed by a question and answer session. The Real Architecture series continues with Norman Foster and HOK Sport's Rod Sheard on Wembley Stadium (May 22); and Anne Lacaton on Bordeaux's Management Sciences University (May 29).
