lllARKlll Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Kaze Paulista Building in São Paulo, Brazil by Forte, Gimenes & Marcondes Ferraz Arquitetos Located in the city of São Paulo, the Kaze Moóca Building is a hair salon designed by Forte, Gimenes & Marcondes Ferraz Arquiteto. The building was established on a small and narrow lot, flanked on either side by existing semi-detached buildings. The small site enables the building to merge with its urban environment, semi-detached as it is, while also showing individuality in contrast to the surrounding buildings. The façade gives the building a contemporary look as its faceted form turns into a powerful lantern for the city at night. The glass façade is part of a controlled ventilation and passive temperature control system. Window panes can be opened, allowing the passage of air through all the internal environment, cooling it on its way to exhausters on the top floor. The atrium at the center of the building runs through all of the floors. Its main feature is a large panel of ceramic tiles, designed by the plastic artist Fábio Flaks. A large metal staircase connects all the floors, which are each organised in a simple, free way. Areas for haircut, washing, hair coloring, epilation, bathrooms, and pantry are provided on the second and third floors; the lower floor contains reception and changing rooms, the top floor is for administration.PlansProject DetailsArchitects: FGMF Architects (Forte, Gimenes and Marcondes Ferraz Architects) – Fernando Forte, Lourenço Gimenes & Rodrigo Marcondes FerrazLocation: São Paulo, BrazilType of Project: Commercial BuildingClient: Kaze Hair SalonTotal cost: R$ 800.000 - Approximately US$ 400.000Site area: 120 m²Building area: 335 m²Design Team: Fernando Forte, Lourenço Gimenes, Rodrigo Marcondes Ferraz, Ana Paula Barbosa, Monica Harumi, Dante FurlanProject Architect: Ana Paula BarbosaMain contractor: Sema BuildingsStructural Engineers: Oppea EngineersLandscaping: Shinzo OkudaElectrical and hydraulic design: Interplanus EugenhariaLighting: Forte, Gimenes & Marcondes FerrazLighting consultant: Reka IlluminationPhotos: divulgação e Marcelo Scandarolli Fonte: Arplus Quote
