Sinceramente desagrada-me muito a solução encontrada para o terreno, mas quem sou eu para decidir... PS: Ao ver os cortes que passam por esses buracos das torres fiquei sem perceber como é que que aquilo vai ser por baixo, porque existe uma espécie de câmara por baixo... Dreamer Posted September 12, 2006 Report Share Posted September 12, 2006 Pondo de parte a minha perspectiva do que havia de ser feito no Ground Zero e sabendo o que vai ser construído, aqui ficam duas imagens esclarecedoras da volta que o projecto deu... O projecto original de Libeskind... O que que vai ser construído... Percebe-se que a ideia do diamente de Lord Norman Foster não é de todo original, percebe-se que o volume de construção era muito mais abaixo, percebe-se uma unidade de conjunto, impossivel de conseguir quando 4 "starchitects" projectam cada um deles uma torre... A construir, o projecto do Libskind é melhor conseguido, mais original e sem dúvida com um efeito melhor no skyline de NY... A própria Freedom Tower era de longe mais bonita... efim... COLFORD DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER The World Trade Center Memorial Museum's opening has been pushed back beyond the original target date of 2009, the Daily News has learned. Though the WTC Memorial, with two sunken pools marking where the twin towers stood, is still due to welcome its first visitors in 2009, the adjoining museum containing WTC artifacts won't open until mid-2010. The delayed museum debut must await completion of a visitors center, which will provide access to the museum's underground exhibition space. The two-phase timetable, which is hinted at in a new environmental analysis of the WTC site, was confirmed by officials when The News sought clarification yesterday. "The memorial will open first and be followed by the visitors center and museum in order to coordinate with the construction of other projects at the site," said Lynn Rasic, vice president of the WTC Memorial Foundation. Another wrinkle affecting visitors will be a delayed opening of the vehicle security center, below where the contaminated former Deutsche Bank tower now stands. The first phase of the security center, which will provide parking for 28 buses, won't be completed until 2011, Port Authority spokesman Steve Coleman said yesterday. Interim bus parking areas are now being identified, he added. The environmental study was conducted by the Lower Manhattan Development Corp. after the memorial design was scaled back last summer and the construction timetable was revised by developer Larry Silverstein and the P.A. Work at the WTC site will peak in 2009, when heavy steel and concrete work will overlap at the Freedom Tower and three other office tower sites, the report says. Não me parece minimamente importante a forma que o edificio terá ou a questão da construção ou não de um novo edificio, ambas as teorias me parecem válidas e eu continuo a acreditar que nestas questões do urbanismo não deve um algarvio opinar sobre o que se faz em torres novas, quanto mais um Europeu acerca do que se faz em NY. Quanto ao tempo que passou... acho justo, e que se multiplicasse por mais 10 ou 20 anos continuaria a ser justo. Não faz qualquer tipo de sentido abordar uma postura de "Rei Morto, Rei Posto" porque o acontecimento não o permite, e acredito que este intervalo de tempo só serve para amadurecer as nossas ideias relativamente ao conceito que é o terrorismo a uma escala global. Seria uma completa subversão do tema e do episódio que hoje em dia, APENAS 5 anos depois já por ali funcionasse um grande edificio "Bigger, Better and Stronger", parece-me que seria uma profunda falta de respeito para com as vitimas. Seguradoras, cheques, economias de compensação, teorias de estrapulação são, no caso, politicas de somenos importância. Há uma frase notável do Herzog que diz que construir ali é "Uma mera" operação de estética e que é isso que torna o exercicio tão fácilmente questionável. Rather than emphasizing the distant bird’s-eye perspectives typical of most ground zero design unveilings, the developers and architects who are working on the redevelopment project stayed pretty much at street level, showing many of the details that will make or break the pedestrian experience. They showed two of the distinctive steel tridents that once supported the facade of 1 World Trade Center, up to 90 feet tall, housed behind glass in the entrance pavilion to the memorial museum. They showed a 90-by-35-foot “media wall” of light-emitting diodes, with transparent elevators to the side, overlooking the channel between the two voids that compose the most recognizable element of the memorial. They showed stores that would face the memorial across Greenwich Street. They also showed a wall of polished black granite that would reflect the memorial plaza. Greenwich Street will offer a critical transition between the sanctity of the memorial plaza itself, on the west side of the street, and the unabashedly commercial quarter on the east side. Therefore, the three enormous office buildings being developed at the trade center site by Silverstein Properties — Tower 2 at 200 Greenwich Street, Tower 3 at 175 Greenwich Street and Tower 4 at 150 Greenwich Street — will have a great effect on the memorial. New design details for all three buildings and also for the memorial museum pavilion on Greenwich Street were described today in a news conference at 7 World Trade Center. Joseph Daniels, the president of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum (as the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation is now known) said that two raw steel tridents from the north face of the north tower would be brought back to the trade center site. The W New York Downtown Hotel and Residences, a 57-storey tower rising at the southernmost edge of the World Trade Center Memorial Site, will complete later this year. Designed by Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects with GRAFT providing the interior design, the project is the first luxury hotel and residential tower to be built in Lower Manhattan and the first new project not a part of the WTC complex to begin construction since 9/11. Rising from a four storey limestone base that will contain a restaurant, lounge, conference center, and fitness center, the glass clad tower will house 217 hotel rooms and 222 residences with commanding views of the memorial site, the water and the city beyond. To differentiate the tower from the commercial structures nearby, the architects have clad the tower with a glass curtain wall that has a subtle grid pattern of white, grey and clear glass panels. The grid is expressed in white glass panels with variations in the pattern to differentiate the three sections of the tower: the hotel guest rooms, the hotel residences and the condominiums. Este render é um exemplo perfeito de como fazer a coisa, observador à altura do olhar e noção de contexto, já que a envolvente está bem espelhada no edifício. Nunca me referi a qualidade do render em si, como voce apontou e de boa qualidade. Quanto a "propaganda" tem de admitir que estas imagens sao criadas para vender o projecto, desempenham uma funcao comercial de "advertise" ou propaganda, o que nao tem nada de mal e eu apenas estava a apontar um facto, nao tive intencao nenhuma de denegrir o projecto e acho que nao o fiz. Mas se a minha opiniao o ofendeu, tem de se aguentar, e quanto ao modo como eu abraco a realidade, nao vou perder o meu tempo a responder-lhe.
