For the second year running the AA has held a competition for a summer pavilion to be exhibited outside its Bedford Square building. The winner (above), The Bad Hair pavilion, is a tangle of timber designed by second-year AA student Margaret Dewhurst and inspired by her experience of drying a mass of wet hair.

All twelve students who took part in the competition (some of whose designs are shown here) will collaborate to build the structure which will be on show between July 6 and 27.
Tutors Charles Walker and Martin Self are overseeing the project and BD is the media partner. Judges include Alison Brooks and Alex de Rijke, AA director Brett Steele and BD editor Amanda Baillieu.
