Candidaturas até 29 Setembro
UNESCO procura arquitecto Estão abertas as candidaturas ao lugar de «Chief Technical Advisor», lançado pela UNESCO para a recuperação do Forte de S. Sebastião na Ilha de Moçambique, classificado como património mundial em 1991. Os interessados, para um projecto que tem a duração de dois anos, devem enviar o currículo até 29 de Setembro.

Os termos de referência são os seguintes:
Draft TORs for Chief technical Advisor to work under the supervision of DIR/UNESCO Maputo

Under the supervision of UNESCO Maputo and World Heritage Centre, the Chief Technical Advisor will implement the new strategy of the project for rehabilitation of the San Sebastian Fortress, on the Island of Mozambique. The CTA will be contracted with the aim to follow day-by-day rehabilitation activities, in collaboration of technical structure put on place. In this regard, the CTA will:
- Coordinate the tendering process for the selection of the Architectural firm to be responsible for the production of all technical documents necessary for the rehabilitation works and for the construction bidding (specifications, publication, results, etc.);
- Conclude negotiations with the selected architectural firm and formulate the contract; prepare TOR’s reference for both consulting and constructions enterprise;
- Conduct negotiations for the provision of needed building material and apply for permits for their use;
- Coordinate the tendering process for the selection of the construction company to execute the rehabilitation works of San Sebastian Fortress
- Assume for UNESCO the day-to-day administration of the rehabilitation project in close coordination with the administrator of the selected construction company; the technical supervisor of the Architectural firm and with the site manager
- Provide UNESCO Maputo with a quarterly report on the project works implementation.
- Liaise with the island community, the Island of Mozambique Cabinet, the Municipality, local administration and other national and international stakeholders to ensure their involvement in the implementation of the project.
- Organize training activities foreseen in the project
- Evaluate and submit to Head UNESCO Maputo Office the progress of the rehabilitation project work
- Control budget and provide justification for installments payment for the contractor
- Monitor the general performance and quality of restoration works according to agreed technical specifications
- Propose sub-project proposals for fund raising for additional works;
- Undertake permanent consultation with the community for activities to be undertaken in the fortress after rehabilitation and develop maintenance plans with relevant stakeholders
- Advise on strategies to be followed for activities development in the fortress
- supervise the support staff at the office of the project
- control budgets and justifications for payments
- Participate in steering committee meetings and submit minutes to the Head of UNESCO Maputo Office
- Accomplish any other relevant task concomitant with the of responsibility of the CTA requested by Head Maputo Office
